Couples Therapy in Ontario
Using Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches, I help couples reconnect, improve communication, and better understand one another.
Reconnect.
Repair.
Understand each other again.

Sometimes relationships don't need more effort.
They need a different conversation.

When Your Relationship Starts Feeling Like All Work and No Play
Many couples seek relationship counselling after realizing they've become great teammates—but somewhere along the way they've stopped feeling like partners.

Conversations revolve around schedules, chores, parenting, finances, or solving the next problem. The laughter, affection, curiosity, and sense of being "us" have quietly faded into the background.

Couples therapy isn't about making your relationship perfect. It's about helping you reconnect with one another, communicate more effectively, and create space for both responsibility and joy again.
Reconnecting
Moving Forward

Learning to slow down enough to hear each other again.
Creating new ways of communicating and solving problems together.

What Couples Therapy Can Look Like
Understanding the Cycle
We begin identifying the interaction patterns keeping you stuck.
Building Safety
We slow conversations down so both partners feel heard and understood.
Moving Forward Together
We practice new communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection.
Relationships rarely break because people stop caring.
More often, they become overwhelmed by stress, misunderstandings, and survival mode.
Therapy helps create enough safety to reconnect.
My Approach to Couples Therapy
My approach to couples therapy integrates Gottman Method principles, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic and polyvagal-informed interventions, and practical communication strategies.
I integrate:
-
Gottman Method Level 1 Training – practical communication and repair tools
-
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) – identifying core emotions and attachment needs
-
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) – small, immediate steps that restore hope
-
Somatic & Polyvagal-informed tools – managing nervous-system reactions in conflict
-
IFS & CFT principles – reducing blame and building self-compassion
In Session We Will
-
Learn to pause and listen without defensiveness
-
Practice repair techniques and conflict de-escalation
-
Reconnect through shared rituals and values
-
Address stress, sexual changes, or body image with care
-
Decide together how to move forward — rebuild or separate with respect

ADHD, Autism, & Neurodivergent Couples Therapy
Some couples don't need better communication—they need communication that fits the way their brains work.

I work with many ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and mixed-neurotype couples across Ontario.
Neurodivergent couples often experience communication differences, sensory needs, executive functioning challenges, and misunderstandings that traditional relationship advice doesn't always address.
